Biography presented during plaque dedication:
Sergeant Thomas Edwin Holland of 10 Light Horse Regiment was born in Port Pirie South Australia in June 1894.
He was one of nine sons and six daughters born to Edward and Emily Holland.
The family moved to Wagin and Thomas went to school there. Later he became an apprentice plumber.
He enlisted in the Light Horse at Guildford in September 1914 after having had two years' experience in 25 Light Horse Citizens Forces.
In February 1915, Thomas embarked on the HMAT Mashobra for Gallipoli having been promoted to lance corporal in December. He was promoted to sergeant at Gallipoli on 16 August 1915.
Sergeant Thomas Edwin Holland, service number 211 of 10 Light Horse, 'A' Squadron, died of wounds received at Lone Pine on 31 August 1915. He was 21.
